We are excited to introduce a new fitness opportunity this year for our elementary students (K-6) on Wednesday, September 16, at 4:45 PM at Landisville Middle School. 

The Lancaster County Run for Fitness is a program hosted by Manheim Township Recreation that promotes fitness and running among elementary-aged students in Lancaster County. Hempfield SD and the Hempfield Cross Country team will host their own Run for Fitness races on Wednesday, September 16th, starting at 4:45 pm in the fields behind Landisville Middle School (see map below). Each grade will run a distance appropriate to their age. The top 5 boys and top 5 girls from each grade will receive an invitation to the Lancaster County Championship Race on 9/27 at Overlook Park.

Calling all kindergarten students...

Help us start an amazing new tradition that connects our oldest students with our youngest. Seniors and kindergartners will exchange class bracelets at the 50-yard line on Friday, Sept. 11th, before the home football game. If you can join us, please meet at the home side gate by 6:15 p.m. You are welcome to leave following the walk.

You do not need to register for this event. Please note the following: 

- Please arrive at the home side gate at 6 p.m. on Sept. 11.

- Tables will be set up for each elementary school.

- Each student and parent will get matching colored wristbands. There is FREE admission for one student and one parent. **Any additional family members will need to pay an entrance fee.

- Parents will accompany their child inside the fence to the end zone closest to Mumma Drive.

- Students will be instructed to line up on the end line before the game starts. When the song starts playing, they will join hands and walk to the 50-yard line to exchange class bracelets with the seniors.

- A senior student will then guide your child back to you.

- Student council students will verify that bracelets match as parents and students exit the track area.

- Once the walk concludes, you can stay for the game or leave the stadium.

- The entire event, from arrival to conclusion, will be one hour.

Back-to-School Night was a huge success! Thank you to all of the families who came out to meet teachers, learn more about the school year, and get ready for another great year at Mountville Elementary. We loved seeing so many familiar and new faces throughout the evening!

Our second week of school was full of fun and learning! Students have been settling into their routines, building relationships, and showing what it means to be responsible and respectful members of our school community.

Mr. Campbell handed out some special guitar picks to students who went above and beyond in demonstrating responsible and respectful behavior. We are so proud of these students for making great choices and setting a positive example for others!

We are off to a wonderful start and are looking forward to all the learning, growth, and fun ahead this school year!
